IPL Records — Highest Team Scores, Most Runs and Most Wickets
The source dossier records RCB's 254/5 against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 on 26 May 2026 as the highest total in IPL playoff history. That is a playoff record, not a claim about the highest total across every IPL match.
A search for the IPL highest score can refer to different records: a team's innings total, a batter's individual score, a playoff total or a season-specific mark. Each needs its own boundary. A figure can be the highest in the playoffs without being the highest across all league and playoff matches.
The 254/5 at the top of this page belongs to the playoff category. The source dossier identifies Royal Challengers Bengaluru's Qualifier 1 innings against Gujarat Titans on 26 May 2026 as that record. We do not extend the claim to all IPL matches.
The table below is calculated from the official BCCI/CricViz match-result feeds across 2008–2026. It includes regular innings and excludes Super Overs. The highest retrieved total is Sunrisers Hyderabad's 287/3 against RCB on 15 April 2024, rather than the 254/5 playoff mark.
Each row keeps its opponent, venue and date. Historical team names follow the source. Totals tied on runs remain separate innings; they are not combined into one event or treated as a repeated entry by mistake.

Lowest team totals: completed all-out innings
For this comparison, the dataset is restricted to innings ending with ten wickets. This excludes short successful chases and unfinished rain-affected innings, which could otherwise create misleadingly low “records”. Super Overs are excluded. The lowest retrieved all-out total is RCB's 49 against Kolkata Knight Riders on 23 April 2017.

RCB's 254/5 came in the match that sent them directly to the final. Gujarat were all out for 162, making the margin 92 runs. The playoff-record attribution in the supplied season account cites a contemporary report; it does not come from a complete all-time table retrieved for this build.
The next two named innings illustrate how much scoring appeared in the same knockout stage. Rajasthan's 243/8 won the Eliminator. Gujarat's 219/3 was a successful chase in Qualifier 2. A chase can stop when the target is reached, so the final total alone does not describe every available ball or every aspect of batting dominance.
These playoff scores do not alter final league NRR. The playoff bracket explains progression, while the points table remains the record of the league stage. RCB's title followed a later win in the final, not the size of their Qualifier 1 score alone.
Highest individual scores
An individual innings record attaches runs to one batter, usually alongside balls faced, opponent, date and whether the batter was not out. It is distinct from a team innings total, which combines contributions and extras. The score 254/5 must never be placed in a batter's personal-runs column.
The dossier supplies Shubman Gill's 104 in Qualifier 2 of 2026 as a named century during Gujarat's route to the final. We use it as an example, not as a claim that it occupies a particular place in an all-time individual-score ranking.
The table below uses official batting summaries and scorecards. Chris Gayle's unbeaten 175 from 66 balls leads the retrieved list. Asterisks identify not-out innings. Equal run totals are displayed by fewest balls, a presentation choice rather than a claimed official records tie-break.

LONGEVITY AND SEASON LEADERS
Most runs and most wickets
Most runs in IPL
A career run total combines seasons; the Orange Cap identifies the leading scorer within one season. The Orange Cap page records Sooryavanshi's 776 in 2026 and Sai Sudharsan's 759 in 2025, alongside career totals calculated from nineteen official season feeds. These award figures must not be relabelled as career totals.
Most wickets in IPL
The same boundary applies to bowling. The Purple Cap page covers Rabada's 29 in 2026 and Prasidh Krishna's 25 in 2025. A career ranking needs a dated, complete dataset across franchises and seasons. The page calculates it from nineteen official season feeds, rather than inferring it from recent cap winners.
THE TROPHY CABINET
Team records: titles, finals and back-to-back wins
5CSK titles
5MI titles
10CSK finals
Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians each have five titles in the dossier's completed results through 2026. CSK have appeared in ten finals, winning five and losing five. Mumbai have appeared in six and won five. A final appearance and a championship are therefore different columns, even when the same team leads or shares a lead in both discussions.
Three franchises have won consecutive IPL titles in that period: CSK in 2010 and 2011, Mumbai in 2019 and 2020, and RCB in 2025 and 2026. These are pairs of consecutive seasons, not a claim about the number of league-stage wins in a row.
RCB lost three finals before their first title. Their successive 2025 and 2026 championships changed the trophy count without erasing those earlier runner-up finishes. A historical results table should keep both outcomes visible rather than describing the franchise only through its latest season.
The winners and runners-up list is the place to follow those title paths year by year. League tables answer who qualified and in what order; final results answer who took the trophy. Neither should be used as a shortcut for the other.

Points shared by RCB, GT and SRH
All three also had nine wins.
Sooryavanshi's 776 led the batting award and the dossier also names him MVP, emerging player and leader for sixes. Rabada's 29 led the wicket-taking award. RCB's 254/5 set the stated playoff total mark. These belong to different categories and are not combined into a single measure of performance.
The league supplied a useful rule example as well: RCB, Gujarat and Sunrisers all finished with 18 points and nine wins. NRR separated their positions because both earlier ranking tests were tied. Equal points alone would not have been enough to skip the wins test.
Calling these “leading marks of 2026” does not promote each one into an all-time record. The season, competition stage and statistic are part of every claim. A precise label is more useful than an impressive number stripped of its limits.
Three useful distinctions
254/5 is labelled as a playoff record, five titles is a team championship count, and 776 is a season's individual run total. Keeping those categories separate prevents a supported fact from becoming an unsupported all-time claim. Follow the linked awards, final-results and playoff pages for context, and keep the source date and calculation scope attached to each ranking.
