Read the result before the rate

A win by runs compares the two final totals when the defending side succeeds. A win by wickets records the chasing side’s wickets remaining when it reaches the target. A no result gives each team one point in the league but no win. The result is the source’s match decision, not a conclusion inferred from a partial score.

A score such as 219/3 in 18.4 overs means 219 runs for three wickets after 18 overs and four balls. The decimal point separates overs from balls; it does not make 18.4 a decimal number. For calculations, use the net run rate calculator.

One match, two appearances

The 70 league fixtures generate 140 team appearances. Dividing those appearances among ten sides gives fourteen league matches per team. Four further games make up the playoffs. A team reaching the final can therefore appear more often than fourteen times in the complete scorebook.

We checked the 70 league results against the final wins, losses, no results and points for all ten teams. The figures match the stored final standings of IPL 2026. Playoff results remain outside that calculation.

Highlighted dates contain fixtures. Gold marks the playoff stage. A small ×2 indicates two matches on the same date; the full table supplies the times and venues.

The season opened on 28 March and closed on 31 May 2026. The league format used two groups of five. Group A contained Chennai, Kolkata, Punjab, Rajasthan and Bengaluru; Group B contained Delhi, Gujarat, Lucknow, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Each team played once against its four group opponents and twice against five opponents in the other group.

That produces fourteen matches per team without requiring every opponent to be played the same number of times. The groups influence the fixture pattern, while qualification uses one combined league table. Earlier discussion of an 84-match 2026 competition did not describe the completed season: the record contains 74 matches in total.

Venue names are shown from the match feed. A franchise can use a second venue, so the city cannot safely be guessed from the team’s name. Punjab used Dharamshala for three home matches, Rajasthan used Guwahati for three, and Bengaluru used Raipur for two, as recorded in the supplied season dossier.

IPL 2026 time table by team

The team selector above includes both sides of a fixture: a club is found whether it is listed first or second. Select the League stage to isolate its fourteen league appearances. Leave the stage unrestricted to include any playoff games. Sorting a standings table is a different task; this scorebook stays in chronological order so a team’s sequence can be read from start to finish.

Bengaluru, Gujarat and Hyderabad each won nine league games. Rajasthan won eight and took the last playoff place. Punjab’s seven wins and one no result were worth fifteen points, one short of Rajasthan. At the other end, Mumbai and Lucknow each won four. These summaries describe the league only; a subsequent knockout win does not change any number in the league column.

For captains, coaches and the main home grounds, use the 2026 team directory. It keeps season information separate from later changes to a club’s current profile.

Qualifier 1 took the top two league teams to Dharamshala on 26 May. Bengaluru’s 92-run win sent them directly to the final. Rajasthan’s 47-run Eliminator win over Hyderabad followed at Mullanpur on 27 May. Gujarat returned at the same venue two days later and beat Rajasthan by seven wickets.

The final in Ahmedabad on 31 May completed the route: Bengaluru beat Gujarat by five wickets. The four dates are distinct from the league stage, and all four scorecards are retained in the match list. IPL 2027 schedule: what is announced

The next season starts with a confirmed fixture list.

The reference check dated 1 October 2026 did not contain an official IPL 2027 schedule or season window. The previous season’s opening and closing dates do not establish when the next edition will run. This page keeps 2026 fixtures clearly labelled while the next fixture list is unavailable.

Outlook India reported on 19 September 2026 that a mini auction would be held in India in the second week of December 2026. That is an attributed report about an auction, not a published match calendar. It does not supply match dates, grounds, starting times or a retention deadline.

How we keep the schedule up to date

This preview contains a dated static snapshot of the public match feed used by the official IPL website. The retrieval on 5 October 2026 produced 74 unique completed matches. We checked the league/playoff split and independently rebuilt the league points and win-loss records before using the data.

The intended match-day refresh process is not running in this preview, so the page does not claim a live 30-minute service. A production collector must retain the last valid snapshot when a source fails and show its timestamp. See how the data is checked for the current implementation and its limits.
